Rebuilding A Site Devoured By Bad Choices

By Artur Ciesielski | Independence Income

Several years ago it was okay to buy links, to farm out article creating that was spun to monkey grade then to shit grade with lots of exact match keywords. We’ll it was not okay, but everyone was doing it and for a newbie it seemed like the way to go.  Well, at some point, the shit hit the fan as it inevitably does when you create crap.

I had lots of sites, most of them crappy and some good at that time. Two are still making decent money despite getting a manual penalty.  That penalty was applied about 18 months ago and recently I decided to take a look at restoring the sites.

After some frustration at not being able to get rid of the bad links I decided to build, at this, time one of those sites again with new high quality content that is truly useful to readers, something I’ve done with good success on several other sites and no link building period.  I will let ‘nature’ take its course in determining the value and linkability of the sites.

building a website

My budget is $3,000 for this project and my desire is a site monthly income of $700.00 after a year.  Seems like a lot and seems like a long time from now, doesn’t it?  Well, the site is going to be built over 6 months with new editorials being published once a week there after. It should make money earlier, but not at the goal levels.

I can certainly build the site for less, hiring writers from outside the U.S., but I get higher quality here and that translates to more legible and more useful, to readers, articles.

This is not a case study. I’ll drop back in to make some updates as I go along, but it’s only one of many projects I have and not a big one. I just want to see if it pencils out in the end.
