Install Of The Museum Palo Verde

What an exciting day, when Moon Valley Nursery delivered the museum palo verde, one they call an instant tree, since it’s so large. Its side required the use of a crane to install into a rather large hole. I made the effort to water the ground several times during the week before so it would be easier for them to dig.
Now the waiting time. They it will take about 90 days for it to acclimate to its new location. I should wait at least 3 weeks before shaving it. It does need some good pruning. Luckily this one is with no thorns so it will not be as painful to trim.
This tree replaced a Ficus which succumbed to last few freezes we had in 2012 and 2011 and before, each time resulting in grave damage. I was sad to see it go.
