Day Two in the Davos area. We’re actually staying in a small village near Davos called Kloisters, it’s much more charming and beautiful then the more teutonic Davos.
Unlike the cloudy and dreary yesterday, today started and ended off with some beautiful weather. Breakfast was good: I had three cappuccinos and a white coffee: they were small.
First a view from the hotel.

The first ride – up and up.
A view going up and below a view from the top down.

Though sunny and dry the trails were wet and muddy. No bid deal, but we were covered immediately in a combination of mud and cow poop, but with a view like this it’s all good. The view were spectacular and so was the riding.

It’s looks small in the photo, but below – look in the top middle – you can see a patch of snow, that is a glacier.

Me, still with not so much mud.

2-3 hours later we go up even higher on this packed really cool train.

This trail resulted in the photo below it. A bruised pinkie and some blood. You know how you’re near the edge trying to correct yourself, but the other side pulls you. That’s what happened.
I was going down, fast, and had a slight miscalculation in the line. It would have been fine. I had already jumped over a few large rocks, made nearly a correction when a very large rock put that to a stop and over the bars I went. Not so bad considering how much further down it was. It could have been more painful.

That’s Victor coming down the hill. He lives in Canada, but he’s Russian.

At about 14:00 we stopped off at this little house, still hight in the hills and had lunch. The first photo is the drink cooler.

A beautiful dog under the table.

Victor again taking a seat before the Goulash arrives.

Sil – our guide with a broth soup with a dumpling.

Trevor – another biker in our group.

And an awesome view from this tiny place.

A bit of a random oddity on one trail.

It was a hard long day today. Lots of uphill and some technical downhill single tracks. Toward the end, I could feel my body got a workout.
And we ended the night with a really good dinner with local beer and Swiss food.
