Love Birds Take On A New Bird Feeder

By Artur Ciesielski | Photography

A few weeks ago we had a new tree planted in the front yard. Soon it needed a bird feeder so I can peer through the window like a voyeur and watch those beautiful creatures pick apart the black sunflower and other seeds.

I like them all, but I really enjoy looking at the love birds with the small size and colorful bodies, pointy beaks and fickle characters.

The love birds only eat from the bird feeder. You’ll never see them on the ground. You can call them the 1% or the szlachta, the landlord or the elite, but maybe they are just fickle because they can be.

There are other birds that frequent the feeder, but most of them, most of the time simple stick around on the ground and go for the stuff that falls from feeder while the glutenous colored ones have their way.

Most of the time there are a few to near a dozen love birds on the feeder and several dozen other birds wandering around the ground picking up the spoils.

By the way the bird feeder is a hit. There are others around the yard, but this one wins it for value, quality and simplicity. It’s all metal, easy to fill and a good value at under $30,00 that should last for years.
