Today Is The Last Day Of Riding And All I Got Was An Apple

By Artur Ciesielski | Adventure

That’s actually not true. The only photos I got are of an apple orchard and none from the riding itself, but the riding today was exceptional.

We rode 700 meters up a steep hill then we walked 200 meters with the bikes on our backs to the top. The mountain was in the clouds with low visibility.

After such a long 2 hour climb we only took a 10 minute break before heading down the very difficult steep, technical trail full of rocks, loose dirt and wet grass.

About 2 hours later instead of lunch we decided to go down the famed and popular Holy Hansen trails, this is a purpose built trails. It’s fast and fun.

The town we’re staying in is Martell in Italy where everyone speaks German, mainly because this region and town are popular with the Germans and a look in the parking lot will confirm that indeed most cars are from Germany. The hotel is called Bamboo Hotel and Lifestyle – The price is great and so are the accommodation. I’d like to come here again.

The apples.

This entire valley is filled with apple trees, it’s like Napa Valley, but with apples. The similarities don’t end there. The apples grow on small vertical narrow trees as if vines. It’s very interesting. I’m actually in awe at how many apples are on each of these trees. Take a look at the photo.

The apples are fabulous = delicious.

We ended riding about 3 and sat at a cafe for 2 hours eating local meats, bread and cheese with beer and wine followed by more wine and frankfurters with fries followed by coffee and apple strudel. It’s still early: 18:00.
